As a certified Doula, I feel honored to be able to share my expertise with women and families around Baton Rouge. I approach birth holistically. As well as physical support during labor, my role is also to act as an advocate for the birthing woman and her family. 

My philosophy on birth is practical. I like to think of the best way to get from A to B. This is a significant asset to my work as a birth worker. I trust in nature and also embrace ideas and change to assist myself and others. I consider ways to best adapt to the environment or changing the environment to fit so we can pursue a goal. I am a common sense kind of gal. I can find solutions on the fly and help my clients who need a solution right away.

That is who I am, and I can't envision doing whatever else. As a young teen, I became intrigued with pregnant women and childbirth. Afterward, I became a veterinary nurse, however, felt pulled toward working with the birth community.

Quick forward through time and today I'm consistently welcome to observe perhaps the most sacrosanct, close, extraordinary occasions in any family. For a couple of hours, or a couple of days, I share their weaknesses, their apprehensions, and wants as they work to finish something extraordinarily troublesome and wonderful. Also, I'm honored to say that I've functioned as a doula for a very long time, which means I've made a difference "birth" children in a new age.

Birth work has resonated with me as both a radical force to empower and protect marginalized people.  I have been magnetized to the birth experience so much so that I feel it is my duty & Earthly purpose is to provide people with emotional and physical support. That protection comes in the power of knowledge and advocacy.
 

I resonate with birth justice. I am unapologetic about my support for journey of progression and equality. This is a JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE. I advocate choice and autonomy.  I support all religions and belief systems.
 

I believe birth matters. I believe birth is rebellion. I believe EVERY birth deserves a doula. I believe the right way to birth is the way that you choose!
